My Weekend
For those of you who have been reading my recent posts about my current trip to Houston, here’s some background information as to exactly why.
The International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC) consists of two rounds: a qualifying round and a finals round. The qualifying stage is a 4-5 month endeavor in which teams from around the world compete for 12 finalist spots. Each team must...

How ironic
that the students who are here in Houston for the first time, and they’re excited as hell. Meanwhile, I’m feeling sick to the stomach, and I’ve been a veteran of this competition for 3 years. And I’m not even really a participant this year; I’m just an advisor.
Damn my competitive nature.
Competition starts tomorrow.
10 Things I Wish I Knew Before College
I stumbled onto this list here. Actually, some of them don’t quite apply to me at the moment (like #4), so there is still hope!
Enjoy your family and friends before they are gone.
This is the most important hindsight. It doesn’t need much explanation. I’ll just repeat it: Enjoy your family and friends before they are gone. Nothing-not money, power, or fame-can replace your...
Slow down
This is my 400th post, and incidentally the first post I’ve ever composed from Starbucks (I feel like such a poser haha).
Try to read through this post from start to finish without stopping.
Difficult, isn’t it? You’ve probably already checked your Facebook. Or responded to that text. Or skipped over that God-awful song that’s been on repeat for several days now.

Our Current State of Mind
I’m sorta getting tired of this plethora of reblogs on my Dashboard, something I unfortunately have been contributing to as well. Secretly, I wish more of my friends would write on more thought-provoking topics. So here’s something for y’all to think about :]
I say music, you say iTunes. Our generation, so often judged by one’s taste in music, has long ago settled on...

3 hours ago, I lost all 30+ of my tabs on Firefox due to a double application crash (Firefox is able to restore your previous session, but since it crashed twice, all it restored was a blank session, thus losing my 30+ tabs).
I spent an hour trying to figure out WTF I should be doing. Eventually, I found the sessionstore.js file, which is a text file that stores the URLs of your previous...

Armpit of California
In a few hours, I shall embark on a weekend trip to the Armpit of California, otherwise known as San Luis Obispo. Indeed, what I have to look forward to is a four-hour, vapid “scenic” drive through fields of nothingness. Nonetheless, I shall still be making stops at Santa Barbara, Solvang (hello, danishes and windmills), and the Firestone Vineyard (as in Andrew Firestone, for you...

Boom roasted
Mom: Watch Boston Med with me! Me: Nah it’s okay I’m good. I’ll watch it on Hulu tomorrow. Mom: Why don’t you want to watch? I don’t think you’re serious about being a doctor. You’re going to have to work in an operating room at some point. Me: Please, that’s for surgeons. Internal medicine does not deal with that.
Like a boss.

Sadness D:
Looking glass
It tends to be a pain to revisit the ghosts of one’s past. But these past few days have been among the more interesting and enlightening in my life recently.
It kills me not to know
A hint would be nice.
Milestone
I just followed my 50th person. Major milestone woohoo!
HIMYM reference: Ted and Robin would salute to that last sentence hahaha.
What is That New Phone Really Going to Cost?... →
The switch to smartphone is quite tempting, but this will probably hold me back for a while longer. I think for me, that kind of money would be better spent on a new lens or something.

Strive
I had a collection of thoughts on my mind while washing the dishes just now. Because washing the dishes is that boring.
I wish I had a more vibrant personality, one that can electrify any room I enter. Or at least one that would allow me to keep people entertained without any instances of uncomfortable silence.
My photography really needs work. I’ve just about finished sorting through the...
It makes my day
when I open up my Dashboard and see replies, and perhaps the occasional reblog. Especially if it’s coming from a complete stranger.
Oh silly me.
